QuoVadis SuisseID enables electronic transactions between Swiss land registries, notaries, and banks
14 Feb 2012
SIX Terravis AG launches pilot project for the electronic exchange of information between Swiss land registries, notaries, and banks. The Terravis system uses QuoVadis SuisseID for authentication and digital signatures.
Terravis is the first nationwide portal providing cutting-edge information from the Swiss land register and enabling electronic transactions between legally authorized professionals. Terravis is a project of SIX Terravis AG, which belongs to SIX Group AG.
The canton of Thurgau is the first region to join the Terravis pilot facilitating electronic commerce between the land register, notaries, and banks. Previously those parties communicated using physical documents by postal mail leading up the settlement.
Using Terravis, settlement of real estate transactions can be accelerated by securely exchanging the data and documents online, without physical media (see video). Combined with the future paperless mortgage note, the Terravis hub will streamline the administrative work and accelerate the completion of real estate transactions.
Access to the Terravis platform is secured by QuoVadis SuisseID digital certificates. Legitimate users are clearly authenticated on the platform and may also legally digitally sign documents using their QuoVadis SuisseID.
